Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will - Zig Ziglar
Hello Everybody,
Recently, I received an email from the University of Liverpool: They can offer me a room on campus. Well... Thanks but you guys are a little late. They apologized for their tardyness, there apparently was a problem with the emailing system. Thanks again guys. Very helpful. I have already booked a room and put down the deposit so I have to kindly decline their lovely offer. I am irritated, to say the least, but my room is lovely for as far as I can see from pictures so I am not worried that I am making a mistake.
My journey is only 2 weeks away now. Crazy isn't it? I am a little scared to be honest. I mean you don't move to another country to study for 5 months everyday. Not to mention, by myself and to a place I have never been before. It is a bit double right now: On the one hand I can't wait to be there and interrail with Gijs and meet all these new people. On the other hand I wish I had some more time to prepare myself mentally(not that I haven't had enough time for that. but still) and I wish for some more time with my boyfriend. He'll be starting his second year monday so the week after I won't see him much. I'll just make the best out of every minute and hug and kiss him to death.
Everyone I am close to has been super supportive of my choice to go abroad. My parents helped me a lot, my friends are enthousiastic about it, my boyfriend is supportive, and even my grandparents think it is cool. Not everyone is going to be as positive and enthousiastic about it as you are going to be about it. I don't know what motivates these people to be negative about whatever it is you are doing but keep in mind that it is your adventure and you shouldn't let any negative vibes get to you, You figured all this out, you chose that city, and those courses because they appealed to YOU. With me some people said negative things about Liverpool without ever having been there and some people said that a modern lit course wouldn't be much fun, and it is hard being positive when people around you are negative but keep your lovely head held high!
This is my adventure, and I'll see where it takes me.
Have a good one
Bye
